TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 1, 2025 : In a major step toward positioning Chhattisgarh as a hub for emerging technologies, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will lay the foundation stone (Bhoomi Pujan) of the state’s first exclusive AI Data Center Parkon May 3 at Sector-22, Atal Nagar Nava Raipur, near the CBD railway station. The park will be developed by Race Bank Data Center Private Limited.
Commerce, Industry and Labour Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan, and Finance, Housing and Environment Minister O.P. Choudhary will also attend the ceremony as special guests.
The project, with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, will span 13.5 acres, including 2.7 hectares earmarked for a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). With the global rise in demand for high-capacity data infrastructure to support artificial intelligence and data mining, Chhattisgarh’s surplus power supply positions it as a promising destination for such investments.
The state government has emphasized the importance of AI and data-based technologies in its new industrial policy. The AI Data Center Park is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities and support India’s broader efforts in developing indigenous AI models and infrastructure.
“Chhattisgarh is steadily moving toward becoming a power and technology hub,” said officials, highlighting recent initiatives such as the Rs 1,163 crore semiconductor unit whose foundation was also recently laid in the state.
Data centers, critical to AI operations, require massive energy and secure environments. The upcoming park is expected to facilitate large language models, data mining, and cloud computing, while reinforcing India’s AI ambitions.
The government’s proactive approach—via Single Window Clearance, Ease of Doing Business, and Speed of Businessinitiatives—has ensured fast-tracked approvals and land allocation, making the AI Data Center Park a significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s industrial transformation.
