Rs 648 Crore Disbursed Under 15th Installment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana

TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 1, 2025: The Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday released Rs 648.38 crore as part of the fifteenth installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, transferring the funds directly into the bank accounts of over 69.32 lakh women across the state. The payment for the month of May 2025 was made by the Women and Child Development Department under the flagship welfare initiative.

Launched in March 2024, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana aims to enhance the financial security of women by providing direct monthly assistance. Since its inception, the scheme has disbursed a total of Rs 9,788.78 crore in 15 consecutive installments. Eligible beneficiaries include married, widowed, divorced, and abandoned women aged between 21 and 60 years, each receiving Rs 1,000 per month.

The department has also urged beneficiaries to ensure their Aadhaar cards are updated to avoid interruptions in future payments. Officials noted that Aadhaar updates are mandatory every 10 years and that many payments were canceled due to inactive Aadhaar status. Affected beneficiaries have been advised to visit their nearest Aadhaar center with valid identity and residence proof to complete the necessary updates.

The Mahtari Vandan Yojana continues to be a critical tool in the state’s efforts to promote women’s empowerment and financial inclusion.
