CM Vishnu Deo Sai Unveils Rs 330 Crore Development Package for Raigarh District

TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 27, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today dedicated a series of development projects worth Rs 330.29 crore to Raigarh district as part of the state’s “Sushasan Tihar” initiative. The projects, spanning infrastructure, sports, education, and transport, include the inauguration of 17 completed works and the foundation laying (Bhoomi Pujan) for seven new ones.

The Chief Minister inaugurated major road infrastructure works, including the widening and renovation of the 56-kilometre Raigarh-Dharamjaygarh Road at a cost of Rs 93.59 crore, and the Punjipathra to Tamnar Milupara CC Road (27.5 km) built for Rs 65.19 crore. Additional road upgrades include the Baraliya-Kasdol-Bhaisgadhi-Badgaon route (14.4 km) at Rs 16.92 crore, Kodatarai-Pusaur-Surajgarh road (8.3 km) at Rs 8.71 crore, and the Bade Bhandar-Umaria-Pusaur-Rengalpali stretch (7.43 km) at Rs 7.95 crore. A new transport office building was also inaugurated in Raigarh at a cost of Rs 93.15 lakh.

In a key boost to sports and youth development, CM Sai performed Bhoomi Pujan for an Integrated Sports Complex in Raigarh, to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 97.52 crore. Other projects for which foundation stones were laid include the Gotma-Kotasura Road (3.5 km) at Rs 3.92 crore, a 2-km road from Aurada village’s primary school to the government warehouse at Rs 2.71 crore, and the Ex-Servicemen Welfare Integrated Complex-cum-Medicare Complex at Rs 1.27 crore.

Education also received a fillip with the Bhoomi Pujan of the Government High School at Gersa in Dharamjaygarh block, set to be developed at Rs 75.23 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Sai emphasized that these projects are reflective of the state government’s commitment to accelerating inclusive development in every district. “This is not just an investment in roads and buildings — it’s an investment in Raigarh’s future,” he said.

The event was attended by Agriculture Minister and Raigarh district in-charge Ram Vichar Netam, Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary, Lok Sabha MP Radheshyam Rathia, Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Pratap Singh, Mayor Jivardhan Chauhan, Zila Panchayat President Shikha Ravindra Gavel, and senior administrative officials including Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain and IG Sanjeev Shukla.
