CM Vishnu Deo Sai Launches and Performs Bhoomi Pujan for Development Works Worth Over ₹329 Crore in Bilaspur

TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 15, 2025 – In a significant boost to Bilaspur’s development landscape, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects valued at more than ₹329 crore during the Jan Jaatiya Gaurav Diwas – Tribal Pride Day celebrations held at the Police Ground in Bilaspur.

During the programme, the Chief Minister launched and performed Bhoomi Pujan for 47 development works amounting to ₹329.77 crore. These included foundation stones for 42 projects worth ₹309.95 crore and the inauguration of five completed works totalling ₹19.18 crore.

Among the key projects inaugurated were the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Koni, constructed at a cost of ₹11.91 crore, and the statue of Raja Raghuraj Singh, erected at a cost of ₹11 lakh. Under the Smart City Mission, he inaugurated Vande Mataram Udyan and an STP construction project under dual piping completed at a cost of ₹6.99 crore. Additional works included the retaining wall, interlocking porch, tile installation and channel link fencing in Ward 18 of the Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, completed at a cost of ₹30.33 lakh, as well as an additional classroom at the Primary School in Lalkhadan built for ₹50 lakh.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the proposed Bhainsajahar Lift Irrigation Scheme in Kota Bhainsajahar worth ₹4.43 crore, along with Mahatari Sadan buildings at Tikri and Chilhati, each costing ₹30 lakh.

In a major push towards strengthening road and transport infrastructure, Shri Sai performed Bhoomi Pujan for several significant road projects across Bilaspur district. These include the upgradation of the Sirgitti–Sarwani–Pasid–Amaldiha–Bartori–Dagori road costing around ₹69.79 crore; the Nehru Chowk–Darrighat road (10.70 km) at ₹32.9 crore; the Koni–Mopka bypass road (13.40 km) worth ₹59.55 crore; the Karma–Barbhantha–Sargadhori road (4.20 km) at ₹4.78 crore; strengthening of the Bilaspur–Ratanpur–Katghora road (1.40 km) at ₹2.99 crore; and the Bhardaiyadih–Kalmitar road (2.30 km) costing around ₹2.89 crore.

Other works include the Sipat Navadih Chowk–Darrabhatha–Lilagar bridge road (4.525 km) worth ₹6.70 crore, a bridge and approach road over Dabki Nala costing around ₹2.20 crore, construction of a CC road from Janji village to CISF Colony (1.675 km) at ₹6.96 crore, and a new community building to be built at a cost of about ₹99.99 lakh.

The Chief Minister further laid foundation stones for several important bridge projects in rural and forested parts of Bilaspur. These include the road from Shivghat Barrage to Mangala STP costing ₹8.12 crore, major bridge works on the Bagdharra–Gaurkhuri, Sargod–Kurdar, Jharna–Baiga Mohalla and Bagthapara routes, as well as crucial bridges at Aamagohan–Chhaprapara and Kumhadakhol under the PM Janman Yojana. Additionally, the upgradation, lining and repair of the Kharang, Kopra, Bahtarai, Pendari, Lakhram and Akaltari reservoirs and canal systems were initiated to enhance irrigation capacity across the region.

The extensive development package marks a transformative step for Bilaspur, covering key sectors such as infrastructure, irrigation, education, urban development and road connectivity. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the projects will not only address current needs but also create a strong foundation for shaping Bilaspur into a modern and prosperous district in the years ahead.
