TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 11, 2025: Once overshadowed by the pain of Maoist violence, Mudvendi, a small village in Bijapur district, is now a shining example of development and hope. Situated 35-40 kilometers from the district headquarters, the village of just 45 families has been transformed through the vision of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the implementation of the Niyad Nellnar Yojana.
Previously plagued by darkness and isolation, Mudvendi now enjoys basic amenities such as clean drinking water, paved roads, and for the first time, electricity. The arrival of power has illuminated homes and hearts alike, replacing fear with optimism.

A local resident, Shri Hunra Kunjam, shared how electricity has changed daily life: “Children can now study comfortably even after sunset. The dangers from snakes, scorpions, and wild animals have also lessened. Our village school, closed for years, has reopened under the Niyad Nellnar scheme, allowing the new generation to receive education within the village.”
Another villager, Shri Lakhma Kunjam, described the mood of the village: “There is a festive atmosphere. Household chores are easier at night, children study with ease, and the village feels safer than ever.”
The Niyad Nellnar Yojana, specifically designed for Maoist-affected regions, is driving comprehensive development while fostering security, confidence, and self-reliance among residents. Mudvendi’s transformation stands as a powerful testament to the impact of clear government intent and effective implementation on the ground.
Today, Mudvendi symbolizes light over darkness, embodying the promise of good governance and the progressive spirit of a new Chhattisgarh.
