TFP Bureau, Korba, June 17, 2025: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a leading aluminium producer and part of Vedanta Aluminium, recently concluded its annual summer camps aimed at fostering holistic growth, creativity, and skill development among children. The camps, held in two phases, reached over 600 children, reflecting BALCO’s ongoing commitment to employee welfare and community engagement.
Under its CSR education initiative, Project Connect, BALCO organized a two-week camp for more than 200 students from Classes 6 to 12, studying in nearby government schools. Project Connect focuses on improving student performance, enhancing teacher capacity, and offering career counselling in core subjects such as Science, English, Maths, and Accountancy (SEMA). The camp included activities like calligraphy, drawing, dance, personality development, and self-defence sessions—many conducted by dedicated employee volunteers.
Concurrently, BALCO hosted a week-long summer camp for the children of its employees within the BALCO township, with participation from over 400 young learners. This much-anticipated event combines fun-filled activities with sessions on yoga, awareness about good touch and bad touch, and creativity-building exercises. Employees and interns actively contributed by leading sessions and supporting participants.

Pooja Pal, a 10th-grade student from a nearby government school and participant in the Project Connect camp, expressed her enthusiasm: “Project Connect has helped me improve my studies throughout the year, and the summer camp added even more value with tips on personality development and self-defence. These sessions made learning enjoyable and boosted my confidence.”
These summer camps provide a vibrant platform for self-expression, confidence-building, and all-round development. Through such inclusive and enriching initiatives, BALCO continues to nurture the next generation, strengthening its connection with employees and the wider community alike.
