TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 19, 2025: The Government of India’s “One Nation One Ration Card” scheme requires all ration card holders in Chhattisgarh to complete electronic KYC (e-KYC) for all family members associated with the Public Distribution System (PDS) by June 30, 2025. This step is essential to ensure Aadhaar-based authentication and seamless delivery of food supplies across the state.
Currently, Chhattisgarh has approximately 81.56 lakh ration cards with 2.73 crore registered members. Of these, e-KYC has been successfully completed for 2.35 crore members, leaving around 38 lakh members yet to complete the process. Children under five years of age are exempt from this requirement as per government directives.
Food Secretary Mrs. Reena Kangale highlighted that e-KYC can be completed conveniently at all fair price shops via electronic Point of Sale (e-POS) machines. Additionally, beneficiaries can complete the process independently from their smartphones using the “Mera e-KYC” app, available on the Google Play Store. The app guides users to enter their Aadhaar number, select the state, and complete biometric verification through a face scan and OTP authentication.
Mrs. Kangale appealed to all ration card holders to complete the e-KYC process for themselves and their family members before the deadline to avoid any disruption in food distribution services.
