Meritorious children of construction workers in Narayanpur selected for residential schools in Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Bastar and Bhilai
TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 20, 2026: Children of registered construction workers in Narayanpur district are getting access to residential education at reputed private schools under the Chhattisgarh government’s Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana.
Implemented through the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, the scheme provides free residential education from Classes 6 to 12 to eligible children of registered workers. For families dependent on daily wages and construction work, the scheme has opened access to educational institutions that would otherwise have been difficult to afford.
Among the beneficiaries is Sahil Dugga, son of mason Ramdhar Dugga of Khargaon village, who has been selected for Rajkumar College in Raipur. Ramdhar said that sending his child to such an institution had earlier seemed beyond the financial means of his family, but the scheme had made the opportunity possible.
Tejal Jain, daughter of construction worker Digeshwari Jain of Jagdish Mandir Ward in Narayanpur, has been selected for free residential education at Delhi Public School, Rajnandgaon.
Two other children from the district, Dipti Usendi, daughter of construction worker Ganeshiya Usendi of Kutul village in Orchha tehsil, and Purvi Patra, daughter of Dayal Singh Patra of Bakulwahi village, have been selected for Sanskar The Gurukul in Bastar.
Himanshu Rana, son of Benu Ram Rana of Borand village, has been selected to pursue his education while residing at the Krishna Education Society in Bhilai.
The scheme is aimed at providing children from workers’ families with access to a secure residential learning environment and opportunities to develop their academic and other skills. The beneficiaries from remote and tribal areas are expected to gain exposure to better educational facilities and prepare for higher studies and future career opportunities.
For the beneficiary families, the selections represent an opportunity to pursue educational aspirations that had remained difficult because of financial constraints.
The families have expressed their gratitude to the Labour Department and the state government for extending the scheme to children of registered construction workers. They also thanked Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Labour Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan for the initiative.
