TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 1, 2025: Chhattisgarh is set to receive a significant upgrade in railway connectivity with the launch of a Raipur-Jabalpur new express train, scheduled to be flagged off on August 3, 2025. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, in an official letter to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, announced the new service and reiterated the Centre’s strong commitment to strengthening railway infrastructure in the state.
The new express train is expected to not only improve passenger convenience between Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh but also promote regional trade, tourism, and people-to-people contact.
In his letter, Railway Minister Vaishnaw highlighted that the Central Government is actively implementing railway projects worth ₹44,657 crore across Chhattisgarh. For the financial year 2025, the state has received a record allocation of ₹6,925 crore under the railway budget.
A total of 32 railway stations in Chhattisgarh are currently being upgraded with world-class passenger amenities. Among them, five newly modernized stations were recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The state is also home to two operational Vande Bharat trains, showcasing India’s progress under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Expressing gratitude to the Union Railway Minister, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said,
“With continuous support from the Central Government, the expansion of railway infrastructure in Chhattisgarh has gained unprecedented momentum. The people of the state are now benefiting from modern and efficient rail services.”
The upcoming Raipur-Jabalpur Express is expected to strengthen regional integration and contribute to the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity and promote inclusive growth.
