TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 2, 2025: After an eight-year hiatus, Chhattisgarh’s youth once again showcased their talents at the Kaushal Tihar 2025, a state-wide skill competition organized by the Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Authority (CSSDA). Held from July 21 to 31 across all districts, the event saw enthusiastic participation from over 2,530 young contestants, with 288 selected for the forthcoming state-level competition.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated the participants and described Kaushal Tihar as more than just a competition — calling it a symbol of hope, confidence, and opportunity for the state’s youth. He emphasized that this initiative represents a strong step toward empowering Chhattisgarh’s future by promoting self-reliance and employment readiness.
The competition was conducted in two age categories: under 22 years and 22 to 45 years. Covering 10 major trades, including Automotive Technology, Bricklaying, Renewable Energy, Food and Beverage, Health and Social Care, Plumbing and Heating, Electrical Installation, Electronics, IT Networking and Mobile Repair, Graphic Design, and Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, the event challenged participants with real-world tasks over 2-3 hour sessions evaluated by expert panels.
Two winners from each trade and age group at the district level received certificates and medals, advancing to the upcoming state-level contests scheduled for later this year. There, finalists will receive advanced training, career guidance, awards, and skill demonstrations.
The top performers at the state level will have the opportunity to represent Chhattisgarh — and potentially India — at the Bharat Skills 2026 and the prestigious World Skills 2026 in Shanghai, China.
This year’s successful revival of Kaushal Tihar follows the previous edition held in 2017, reaffirming the state government’s commitment, under the leadership of CM Sai and Skill Development Minister Kedar Kashyap, to nurture and promote skilled youth as part of building a self-reliant and prosperous Chhattisgarh.
