TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 3, 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the much-awaited Raipur-Jabalpur Express, offering a comfortable 8-hour journey between Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The new express train marks a significant step in regional connectivity and was flagged off from Raipur Railway Station in a grand ceremony.
The launch was part of a broader national initiative, with simultaneous inaugurations of new train services across India. The Raipur-Jabalpur Express is expected to serve thousands of passengers—traders, students, tourists, and daily commuters—while enhancing access to key destinations like Gondia, Balaghat, Dongargarh, and Jabalpur.
CM Sai highlighted the state’s progress in railway development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting that Chhattisgarh’s rail budget has increased 21 times in the past decade, with ₹6,900 crore allocated for 2025 and ₹47,000 crore worth of projects currently underway.
The train, comprising 15 modern coaches, will depart from Raipur at 2:45 PM and reach Jabalpur at 10:45 PM. The return journey departs Jabalpur at 6:00 AM and arrives in Raipur by 1:50 PM—covering 410 km in just 8 hours.
The new service is also expected to boost tourism to major attractions such as Maa Bamleshwari Temple, Kanha National Park, and Bhedaghat’s iconic Dhuandhar Falls, while supporting economic activity across Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.
