TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 3, 2025: Chhattisgarh is all set to get a grand new Vidhan Sabha building in Nava Raipur, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announcing that the iconic structure will be inaugurated during the state’s Rajat Jayanti (silver jubilee) celebrations in November. The building, now in its final stage of construction, will be a landmark symbolizing Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage and democratic aspirations.
On Saturday, CM Sai, along with Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Deputy CM and PWD Minister Arun Sao, conducted an on-site inspection and reviewed progress. Officials were instructed to complete all remaining work by September, ensuring the new complex is ready for dedication during Rajyotsav on November 1, 2025.
“This will be a historic gift to the people of Chhattisgarh in its 25th year,” said CM Sai. He confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to inaugurate the building during the state foundation day celebrations.
Speaker Dr. Raman Singh also affirmed that the building is on schedule, adding, “We reviewed the Speaker’s chamber, CM’s office, and the Assembly premises. The entire structure is taking final shape and will be ready on time.”
The state-of-the-art complex, spread over 52 acres, blends traditional Chhattisgarhi architectural motifs with modern functionality. It comprises three main wings:
- Wing A: Assembly Secretariat
- Wing B: Chief Minister and Speaker’s offices, Central Hall, and the main Assembly chamber
- Wing C: Offices of Deputy Chief Ministers and other ministers
The Assembly chamber will accommodate 200 legislators, while an ultra-modern auditorium with 500-seat capacityand parking for 700 vehicles are also part of the design. Two proposed lakes, each spread over 1.5 acres, will enhance the landscape and environmental appeal of the campus.

Deputy CM Arun Sao described the building as “not just an administrative hub, but a living embodiment of Chhattisgarh’s architectural brilliance and cultural identity.”
The project is expected to set a new benchmark in institutional infrastructure across the country, showcasing a blend of functionality, design, and cultural pride.
Senior officials including Shri Ajay Jamwal, Shri Pawan Sai, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, PWD Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, and Chief Engineer V.K. Bhatpahri were also present during the site visit.
