TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 7, 2025: Marking the celebration of National Handloom Day, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with a delegation from the Chhattisgarh Weavers’ Community at his official residence in Raipur. The weavers presented him with a symbolic replica of a traditional handloom, honoring the heritage and pride of local artisans.
Extending his greetings to the community, CM Sai praised the vital role of handloom artisans in preserving the cultural identity of Chhattisgarh. “The craftsmanship of our weavers is a living symbol of our state’s rich traditions and heritage. Their skills have brought both recognition and pride to Chhattisgarh,” he said.
He further emphasized that the state government is making concerted efforts to enhance the dignity, prosperity, and empowerment of the weaving community. “From the availability of raw materials and production support to expanding market access, the government is working on all fronts to promote self-reliance and sustainability for our weavers,” he stated.
Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Vocal for Local” initiative, CM Sai said the handloom sector represents not only a livelihood for thousands but also a cultural asset that must be celebrated and preserved. “It is time to rediscover and promote traditional products and crafts with pride,” he added.
The Chief Minister assured the visiting delegation that the government is fully committed to their welfare. “The coming years will mark a new chapter of growth and empowerment for our weavers. Every possible support will be extended to ensure their holistic development,” he said.
The weavers’ delegation was led by National Vice President of the Chhattisgarh Weavers’ Community Mahesh Devangan, and included senior members Purushottam Devangan, Dhanesh Devangan, Gajendra Devangan, among others. They expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his continued support and attention to the needs of the weaving community.
