Chhattisgarh Sets Benchmark in Public Relations: Maharashtra Delegation Lauds DPR and Chhattisgarh Samvad

TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 7, 2025: Chhattisgarh has emerged as a model state in the field of public relations and government communication, drawing praise from a visiting delegation of senior officials from Maharashtra’s Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR). The six-member team, on a three-day visit from August 5 to 7, closely studied the systems and innovations adopted by Chhattisgarh’s Department of Public Relations (DPR) and its media unit, Chhattisgarh Samvad.

The delegation included Maharashtra’s Deputy Secretary Ms. Samruddhi Angolkar and Director Mr. Kishor Gangarde, among others. Their primary focus was to observe the Chhattisgarh government’s practices in information dissemination, digital communication, and media engagement for public welfare schemes.

During the visit, the officials received a comprehensive overview of the DPR’s functioning—particularly systems such as e-News Clipping, e-RO (Release Order) system, e-Publication processes, journalist accreditation mechanisms, and welfare schemes for media professionals. The team also studied the advanced digital and workflow systems implemented by Chhattisgarh Samvad.

The delegation called on Dr. Ravi Mittal, Commissioner, Department of Public Relations, who highlighted the state’s commitment to transparent and people-centric communication. “We aim to deliver government information to the public in a timely and effective manner, blending technology with a human touch. We welcome such inter-state learning exchanges that promote innovation and collaboration,” Dr. Mittal stated.

The team also visited the Directorate of Public Relations office at Indravati Bhawan, where they interacted with officials across departments and witnessed real-time operational activities. Additional Directors Mr. J.L. Dariyo, Mr. Umesh Mishra, and Mr. Sanjeev Tiwari provided in-depth briefings on the department’s digital tools, outreach strategies, and policy implementation models.

Impressed by the integrated and tech-driven approach of Chhattisgarh’s PR system, the Maharashtra delegation expressed interest in adopting similar practices in their state. They commended the state’s efforts in transforming public communication into an efficient, accessible, and responsive service.

Several senior officials from the DPR and Chhattisgarh Samvad were also present during the visit, contributing to discussions on collaborative governance and best practices in public engagement.
