Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai to Hoist National Flag in Raipur on 79th Independence Day

TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 14, 2025 – Chhattisgarh is set to celebrate the 79th Independence Day with grandeur and patriotic fervour, with preparations now complete across the state from the capital Raipur to every district, town, and village. The state-level main function will be held at the Police Parade Ground in Raipur at 9 a.m., where Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will hoist the national flag and deliver his address to the people of Chhattisgarh.

After unfurling the tricolour, the Chief Minister will take the salute of the ceremonial parade, which will feature an attractive march past by the police, contingents of security forces, and other uniformed services. The function will also include a cultural programme, a police band performance, and a horse show, symbolising both tradition and discipline.

As part of the Independence Day honours, Chief Minister Sai will felicitate 25 police personnel from the state with Gallantry Medals, the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, and Medals for Meritorious Service. These awards recognise acts of exceptional bravery, sacrifice, and distinguished service in maintaining law and order and combating Left Wing Extremism.

Alongside the Raipur event, the tricolour will be hoisted across all district headquarters of Chhattisgarh by senior leaders of the state government, Union ministers, MPs, and MLAs. Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu will preside over the celebrations in Bastar, while Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw will lead the function in Bilaspur and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma in Durg. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will hoist the flag in Rajnandgaon, and Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam will do so in Surguja.

Other ministers will also represent the government at district-level events: Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel in Gariaband, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap in Balod, Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan in Korba, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal in Jashpur, and Finance Minister O.P. Singh Chaudhary in Raigarh. Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade will hoist the flag in Surajpur, while Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma will preside in Janjgir-Champa.

Members of Parliament will also participate actively in the celebrations. Brijmohan Agrawal will hoist the flag in Balodabazar, Vijay Baghel in Bemetara, Santosh Pandey in Kawardha, Chintamani Maharaj in Balrampur, Roopkumari Chaudhary in Mahasamund, Radheshyam Rathia in Sarangarh, Kamlesh Jangde in Sakti, Mahesh Kashyap in Bijapur, Bhojraj Nag in Kanker, and Devendra Pratap Singh in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai.

Several MLAs will represent their constituencies at the Independence Day ceremonies: Punnulal Mohle in Mungeli, Dharamlal Kaushik in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Amar Agarwal in Korea, Ajay Chandrakar in Dhamtari, Renuka Singh in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Lata Usendi in Kondagaon, Vikram Usendi in Narayanpur, Rajesh Munat in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagadh Chowki, Kiran Dev in Dantewada, and Dharamjeet Singh in Sukma.

The 79th Independence Day will thus be celebrated simultaneously at multiple venues across Chhattisgarh, ensuring every district and region participates in this national occasion. With a blend of official ceremonies, cultural events, and public participation, the celebrations are expected to highlight both the patriotic spirit of the state and its unity in diversity.
