TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 14, 2025 – The Ministry of Home Affairs has honoured 25 police personnel from Chhattisgarh with national awards on Independence Day 2025, recognising their courage, dedication, and long-standing service. The honours include Gallantry Medals (GM), the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), and Medals for Meritorious Service (MSM), highlighting the state’s pivotal role in strengthening internal security and combating Left Wing Extremism.
Fourteen policemen have been awarded the Gallantry Medal for displaying exceptional courage and operational capability in high-risk situations. Among them are IPS officer Sunil Sharma (Superintendent of Police), Sub-Inspector Sandeep Kumar Madile, and constables Madkam Pandu, Madkam Hadma, Madkam Dev, Barse Hunga, and Roshan Gupta. Three personnel—Assistant Sub-Inspector late Ramuram Nag, Constable late Kunjam Joga, and Constable late Vanjam Bhima—received the award posthumously for their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Himanshu Gupta has been honoured with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service in recognition of his exemplary leadership, professional integrity, and sustained contributions to public safety.
Ten more officers, including Inspector General of Police Dhruv Gupta, SP Prashant Kumar Thakur, Commandant Shweta Rajmani, and SP Ravi Kumar Kurre, have been awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service. Their contributions span counter-insurgency operations, administrative efficiency, and community policing.
With 14 GMs, one PSM, and 10 MSMs, Chhattisgarh Police has achieved a remarkable presence in this year’s honours, reflecting its frontline role in maintaining law and order and ensuring national security.
