TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 31, 2025: In a bid to strengthen women’s empowerment in villages, the Panchayat and Rural Development Department of Chhattisgarh on Sunday launched a new radio programme titled ‘Didi Ke Goth’. The programme was simultaneously broadcast at 12:15 pm from all Akashvani centres in the state, including Raipur, and was received enthusiastically across districts.
The inaugural broadcast featured motivational messages and guidance from Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Union Rural Development Minister, and Deputy Chief Minister and Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Vijay Sharma. The leaders underlined that the initiative aims to inspire women by sharing stories of resilience, self-employment and success from self-help groups across the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Sharma joined the mass listening in Kawardha district along with local representatives, self-help group members and officials. He said the stories aired during the programme would encourage countless other women to become self-reliant. Similar community listening sessions were held across districts, with senior officials including Panchayat and Rural Development Secretary Bhim Singh, Special Secretary Dharmesh Sahu, MNREGA Commissioner Taran Prakash Sinha, and Panchayat Department Director Priyanka Mahobia participating directly with women’s groups.
At the Serikhedi-based Community Management Training Institute in Raipur, a cluster-level broadcast was organised where Bihan Mission Director Ashwini Devangan and Joint Mission Director R.K. Jha, among others, joined women listeners.

The programme’s central objective is to connect rural women with government schemes and showcase successful examples from self-help groups, motivating others to follow the path of self-employment and confidence. According to officials, ‘Didi Ke Goth’ was heard in 33 districts, 146 development blocks and 580 cluster organisations, with lakhs of women participating in the mass listening.
More than just a radio broadcast, ‘Didi Ke Goth’ is being positioned as a platform for social change by highlighting the struggles and achievements of rural women, while spreading the message of empowerment and self-reliance.
