TFP Bureau, New Delhi, September 9, 2025: The Indian Navy launched its 11th Ammunition-Cum-Torpedo-Cum-Missile (ACTCM) Barge, LSAM 25 (Yard 135), at M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt. Ltd., Thane, on September 8. Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi, ACWP&A, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The contract for constructing 11 such barges was signed on March 5, 2021, with the Thane-based MSME shipyard. Designed indigenously in collaboration with an Indian ship design firm and certified by the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS), the barges underwent model testing at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam, to ensure seaworthiness.
Of the 11 barges commissioned, 10 have already been delivered and are being effectively deployed in Indian Navy operations. The latest launch marks the completion of the project, bolstering the Navy’s logistical and operational efficiency.

The ACTCM barges stand as a testament to the government’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, showcasing the capability of India’s MSME shipyards in delivering critical defence assets.
