CM Urges Farmers to Embrace Technology, Organic Farming for Higher Incomes

During ‘Mukhya Mantri Kisan Samvad’, Vishnu Deo Sai highlights drone technology, crop diversification and scientific farming as key drivers of agricultural transformation

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 3,2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday said that agriculture remains the foundation of the state’s culture and identity, and emphasized that innovation, technology, and farmer-centric policies are ushering in a new era of agricultural transformation in Chhattisgarh.

Addressing farmers from various districts during the ‘Mukhya Mantri Kisan Samvad’ programme in Raipur, the Chief Minister said the state government is committed to making agriculture more profitable, sustainable, and dignified through modern technologies and progressive initiatives.

Sharing his personal connection with farming, Sai said he comes from an agricultural family and understands the challenges and aspirations of farmers firsthand. He noted that agriculture, once heavily dependent on rainfall and limited resources, has witnessed remarkable progress due to mechanization, scientific farming practices, and technological advancements, resulting in increased productivity and new opportunities for cultivators.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, farmers’ welfare has been placed at the forefront of governance. He highlighted schemes such as the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, zero-interest agricultural loans, improved seed distribution, expanded irrigation facilities, and farm mechanization, which have strengthened the economic condition of farmers across the country.

Referring to his interactions with farmers during the recently concluded Sushasan Tihaar, Sai said the positive impact of government welfare schemes is clearly visible in rural areas. The growing confidence among farmers, he added, reflects the success of these initiatives.

Interacting with women known as “Drone Didis,” the Chief Minister said drone technology is emerging as a game changer in agriculture. The use of drones for spraying nano urea and nano DAP is helping farmers reduce costs, save time, and improve efficiency. He also noted that the technology is creating employment and self-employment opportunities for rural women.

Describing nano urea, nano DAP, and organic farming as the future of agriculture, Sai said these practices can lower input costs, enhance productivity, and help maintain soil fertility while protecting the environment. He encouraged farmers to adopt balanced fertilizer use and increasingly embrace natural and organic farming methods.

Addressing concerns over fertilizer availability ahead of the Kharif season, the Chief Minister assured farmers that adequate stocks of fertilizers and seeds have been arranged. He urged them not to pay attention to rumours and said strict monitoring is being carried out to prevent black marketing and hoarding.

Sai further stressed that crop diversification, horticulture, and natural farming have significant potential to increase farmers’ incomes. Observing that many young people are now viewing agriculture as a modern enterprise, he urged farmers to adopt innovation and scientific methods, stating that technology-driven farming will be the key to future prosperity.

He added that the state government is actively promoting skill development, drone operations, agricultural mechanization, organic farming, and agri-entrepreneurship through a range of programmes aimed at strengthening the rural economy and empowering farmers.
