Chhattisgarh Housing Board Creates Record with ₹435 Crore Revenue in Six Months

TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 10, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Housing Board has set a new benchmark in urban housing by recording unprecedented revenue of ₹435 crore within just six months. Through the sale of 2,230 properties between March and August 2025, the Board has achieved a milestone that far exceeds its earnings of the past five years combined. Officials attribute this success to the One Time Settlement Scheme-2 (OTS-2), which has emerged as a transformative initiative for making housing accessible to the middle and low-income population of the state.

Housing Revolution in Motion

Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary, while lauding the achievement, said, “Our mission is not merely the sale of properties, but to ensure that every family in Chhattisgarh secures a safe and respectable roof over their heads. This record revenue is the result of the trust people have placed in the Board and the hard work of our team. Going forward, we will accelerate efforts to provide quality, affordable housing for all.”

The Minister further highlighted that the government’s focus is on inclusive development, and housing is at the heart of this vision. By simplifying procedures and offering financial relief through schemes like OTS-2, the state has successfully converted long-pending dreams of homeownership into reality.

A Leap in Numbers

Historically, the Chhattisgarh Housing Board (Grih Nirman Mandal) had managed to sell an average of 1,387 properties annually, generating revenues around ₹262 crore per year. However, in just six months this year, the Board outperformed itself by selling 2,230 properties valued at ₹435 crore. Of these, 1,070 properties worth ₹259 crore were sold under the Atal Vihar and General Housing Scheme. Another 1,160 properties, worth ₹176 crore, were sold under OTS-2 with discounts of up to 30 percent, making housing far more affordable for buyers.

Chairman of the Housing Board, Anurag Singh Dev, remarked that this remarkable achievement is just the beginning. “Our goal is to make Chhattisgarh a leader in the housing revolution. More than 2,200 families have found their dream homes within six months. We are planning to launch new housing projects at affordable prices and are committed to making registration, payments, and other processes fully digital, simple, and transparent,” he said.

OTS-2: A Game-Changing Policy

Introduced by the state government earlier this year, OTS-2 has proven to be a true game changer. It offered significant concessions to buyers, encouraging thousands to invest in their homes. In comparison, the earlier OTS-1 scheme (September 2021 to March 2024) could sell only 506 properties for ₹88 crore in three years. In contrast, OTS-2 sold more than double that number—1,160 properties—within just six months, unlocking revenue of ₹176 crore.

Officials explained that the scheme brought relief to many who had been struggling with financial barriers or pending property allotments. With discounts, simplified processes, and greater transparency, OTS-2 has opened the doors of homeownership to common citizens across urban centers of the state.

Looking Ahead

The Housing Board has already begun strategizing for the future. Upcoming plans include launching new affordable housing colonies, expanding the reach of Atal Vihar projects, and integrating e-housing systems for faster allotments and payments. Digital innovations will make property transactions smoother, while transparency measures will build greater trust with citizens.

The government’s vision is clear: to make Chhattisgarh not just a participant but a leader in India’s housing sector. With the momentum generated by OTS-2 and record-breaking revenue figures, the state is well on its way to fulfilling the long-cherished dream of “housing for all.”

“This achievement is not just about numbers—it is about dignity, security, and hope for thousands of families,” Minister Choudhary said, adding that the Housing Board will continue working with renewed energy to expand affordable housing opportunities across the state.
