Film highlights courage and sacrifice of healthcare workers during Mumbai terror attacks; Kangana Ranaut, director Manoj Tapadia present at Raipur event
TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 8,2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday attended the pre-launch screening of the film “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata” at Jora Mall in Raipur, describing the movie as a powerful tribute to the unsung healthcare heroes who displayed extraordinary courage and dedication during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
The event was attended by renowned actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut, film director Shri Manoj Tapadia, artists from the film industry, public representatives, healthcare professionals and a large gathering of citizens. The Chief Minister was accompanied by his wife, Smt. Kaushalya Sai, and family members.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Sai said it was a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh that the pre-launch screening of the film was being held in the state and that Ms. Kangana Ranaut had personally attended the occasion. Welcoming the actress to Chhattisgarh, he referred to the state as the birthplace of Mata Kaushalya and the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram.
The Chief Minister praised the film for bringing to the forefront the untold stories of healthcare workers who risked their lives to save others during the terrorist attacks in Mumbai on November 26, 2008. He noted that while the attacks claimed many innocent lives, nurses, doctors and hospital staff worked tirelessly under extreme circumstances to care for the injured and save hundreds of people, often disregarding their own safety.
Describing the film as a story of service, courage and dedication, Shri Sai said many individuals perform extraordinary acts of bravery and humanitarian service but rarely receive the recognition they deserve. He lauded the film for honoring such unsung heroes and bringing their contributions to national attention.
The Chief Minister also expressed pride that the film’s director, Shri Manoj Tapadia, hails from Chhattisgarh. He said the director’s decision to create a film based on such an important and inspiring subject reflects his deep commitment to meaningful storytelling.
Commending Kangana Ranaut for portraying the role of a nurse in the film, Shri Sai said she has played a significant role in highlighting the sacrifices and commitment of healthcare workers who stood as silent warriors during one of the darkest chapters in the nation’s history.
Shri Sai further remarked that it was a matter of privilege that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had bestowed the title “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata” on the film. On behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh, he extended his congratulations and best wishes to Ms. Ranaut, director Manoj Tapadia, the film’s production team and healthcare personnel associated with the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Kangana Ranaut said director Manoj Tapadia, a native of Chhattisgarh, had always wished to screen the film in his home state. She thanked Chief Minister Sai for attending the event despite his busy schedule and said his presence had boosted the morale of the artists and the entire team behind the film.
During the programme, the Chief Minister felicitated several “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata Warriors” for their outstanding service during emergency situations in Chhattisgarh. Those honoured included Shri Jageshwar Kumar Dhivar, Shri Narayan Singh Nayak, Smt. Bhuneshwari Tiwari, Smt. Rohini Verma, Smt. Urmila Bhagat, Smt. Roshni, Shri Vijay Shankar Kashyap, Smt. Meena Singh, Smt. Mamta Kapoor, Smt. Meena Sharma, Smt. Jamunabai, Smt. Lakshmi Menon and Smt. Vijaya Lakshmi Pillai.
Several cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, including Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Smt. Lakshmi Verma and Smt. Roop Kumari Choudhary, legislators, public representatives, film personalities and media representatives were present at the event.
