CM undergoes check-up, stresses regular screening amid rising lifestyle diseases
TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 17, 2026: Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday inaugurated a three-day health camp at the premises of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, calling for greater public awareness on preventive healthcare and regular medical check-ups.
The inaugural programme was attended by Leader of Opposition Charandas Mahant, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, along with senior officials and staff of the Health Department.
In a symbolic move to promote proactive health management, the Chief Minister himself underwent a medical check-up at the camp. He emphasised that changing lifestyles and declining physical activity have contributed to a sharp rise in various ailments, making regular health screening increasingly essential.
Highlighting the importance of early detection, Sai said timely diagnosis enables individuals to stay alert and take preventive measures, thereby reducing the risk of serious diseases. “Healthy citizens form the bedrock of a strong society and a prosperous state,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister also lauded the initiative of Assembly Speaker Raman Singh, stating that such camps not only spread awareness but also motivate people to take responsibility for their own well-being.
Among those present were Health Secretary Amit Kataria, Director (Health) Sanjeev Kumar Jha, Managing Director of CGMSC Ritesh Agrawal, and other officials and staff members.
