TFP Bureau, Raipur, September 18, 2025: The silver jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh’s formation have turned into moments of joy and relief for hundreds of families as part of the Seva Pakhwada initiative. In Bilaspur, needy families were handed keys to their new homes, building permits, first installment cheques, and Vaya Vandan health cards. The program also saw the felicitation of “Lakhpati Didis,” symbolizing women’s growing economic empowerment through self-help groups.
The distribution program brought emotional scenes as beneficiaries shared how their long-cherished dreams were finally being realized. Mamta Dubey of Kududan, who received approval under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) along with a sanctioned building plan, said she was relieved to be free from the burden of paying rent. For Vijaya of Gotiwada, Hemunagar, and Om Sahu of Bijaur, the handover of home keys marked a turning point. Vijaya shared that her husband’s modest earnings as a driver could never have funded a permanent home, but now, thanks to the scheme, her family can move out of their mud dwelling into a secure house.
Santoshi Shrivas of Ashok Nagar and Poonam Tandon of Lingiyadih also received allotments in Khamtarai and Bahtarai, respectively, along with the first installment for construction. “We can finally see our dream of living in our own house coming true,” they said with smiles. Equally relieved was Rani Yadav, who had been living in an illegally occupied house near Sarkanda police station. With the looming threat of demolition, she feared losing shelter, but the official approval for her home has now brought peace of mind.
Among others, Abdul Naeem, a mechanic from Talapara, Khwaja Nagar, also received approval. “My family will finally have a secure roof overhead,” he said emotionally. Several other families performed small housewarming ceremonies as they took possession of their new homes.
The event also witnessed the distribution of Vaya Vandan health cards, providing beneficiaries with health assistance worth ₹5 lakh. Recipients such as Harnarayan Patel, Shanti Devi, and Vidya Parihar expressed gratitude to both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, saying the schemes had given them “new hope and strength.”
The program reflected the government’s broader effort to combine welfare and empowerment—ensuring permanent housing, financial support, and health security for the underprivileged. As the celebrations of Chhattisgarh’s silver jubilee continue, stories like these highlight the tangible impact of state and central schemes on ordinary lives, transforming dreams into reality and offering renewed confidence for the future.
