Grand Vijayadashami Celebrations in Raipur Marked by Ravan Dahan, Fireworks, and Spiritual Messages

TFP Bureau, Raipur, October 3, 2025: The capital city of Raipur witnessed grand Vijayadashami celebrations as Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai joined thousands of citizens at various venues, including the WRS Colony grounds, Ravanbhantha, and Shankar Nagar. The traditional Ravan Dahan, dazzling fireworks, and devotional fervor marked the evening, drawing large crowds across the city.

At WRS Colony, Governor Ramen Deka called Vijayadashami not only a festival of the victory of Dharma over Adharma but also an occasion for personal reflection. He urged people to abandon ego and negativity, embracing constructive roles in the progress of society and the nation.

Chief Minister Sai, addressing devotees at WRS Colony as well as at the Ravanbhantha and Shankar Nagar celebrations, said the festival conveys a timeless message—truth may face trials but cannot be defeated. “Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana teaches us that arrogance, unrighteousness, and evil will always perish before truth and Dharma,” he remarked.

Highlighting Chhattisgarh’s deep connection with Lord Ram, the Chief Minister said the state is revered as the maternal home of Mata Kaushalya and the maternal home of Shri Ram, affectionately called “Bhancha Ram” in local tradition. He recalled that during their exile, Lord Ram, Mata Sita, and Lakshman spent significant time in the forests of Chhattisgarh, where many traces of their journey remain. “This heritage reminds us to root out lust, anger, arrogance, greed, and illusion from within ourselves,” he added, extending festive greetings to the people of the state.

At the historic Ravanbhantha grounds, where the Dussehra tradition has been celebrated for nearly 150 years, MP Brijmohan Agrawal said the event carries the blessings of Lord Balaji Maharaj and symbolizes the eternal triumph of truth and righteousness. MLA Sunil Soni and Mayor Meenal Choubey also addressed the gathering.

The celebrations were marked by vibrant cultural performances, devotional rituals, and spectacular fireworks. Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, MLA Purandar Mishra, State Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Sanjay Srivastava, CSIDC Chairman Rajiv Agarwal, and several public representatives joined the festivities. Members of Shri Dudhdhari Math, Khamhardih Public Dussehra and Cultural Committee, and thousands of citizens added to the grandeur of the event.
