Chief Minister Initiates Sweeping Reforms; Sirpur Festival Promises Cultural Extravaganza

TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 18, 2024: Under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Chhattisgarh is witnessing a transformative wave of governance, marked by rapid decision-making and public-centric policies. The state is abuzz with enthusiasm as the government spearheads initiatives aimed at fostering development and prosperity. A new chapter of good governance has unfolded, with the Chief Minister swiftly implementing a slew of measures to fulfill the promises made to the people within a short span of two months.

In a groundbreaking move, Chief Minister Shri Sai took the momentous decision to disburse the outstanding paddy bonus amounting to two years to over 13 lakh Annadata farmers. On the occasion of Good Governance Day, an astounding sum of Rs 3716 crore was transferred to their bank accounts. Additionally, under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, provisions totaling Rs 22,000 crore have been earmarked to bridge the gap and provide equitable support to farmers.

Furthermore, the state government has undertaken various initiatives to enhance the quality of life for rural communities. Free tap connections will be provided to over 12 lakh rural families through the Water Life Mission, with a budget allocation of Rs 4,500 crore. Additionally, schemes such as the Chief Minister Food Protection Scheme and Deendayal Upadhyay Bhumi Landless Krishi Mazdoor Yojana aim to alleviate poverty and ensure social security for marginalized sections.

In a bid to tackle corruption and empower youth, Chief Minister Shri Sai has initiated investigations into the PSC examination scam and launched the Chhattisgarh Enterprise Revolution Scheme to promote self-employment. Moreover, discounts of five years in the prescribed age limit have been granted to youth in various government recruitments.

The government’s commitment to infrastructure development is evident with provisions made for the construction of 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, as well as investments in railway network expansion and electricity subsidies. Initiatives such as the Atal monitoring portal and online permit system for coal transport underscore the government’s dedication to transparency and accountability.

In parallel, the historic city of Sirpur is gearing up to host the three-day Sirpur Festival from February 24 to 26, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh. The festival promises a captivating lineup of events, including laser shows, performances by Indian Idol fame, and the inaugural Mahanadi Aarti. Local folk artists will enthrall audiences with their traditional art forms, while archaeological history will be brought to life through mesmerizing laser shows.

The festival venue is undergoing extensive preparations to ensure cleanliness, adequate amenities, and a vibrant atmosphere for attendees. With attractions like bathing kunds for devotees and illuminated temple precincts, the Sirpur Festival is set to enchant visitors and celebrate the cultural vibrancy of Chhattisgarh.
