Bihar Elections 2025: No Re-Polls Needed After Phase-I Scrutiny

TFP Bureau, Patna/New Delhi, November 7,2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday announced that no re-polls are required for Phase-I of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 after a detailed scrutiny of poll-day documents across all 121 Assembly Constituencies.

According to the ECI, officials conducted post-poll scrutiny of Form 17A (Register of Voters) along with other polling-day documents to ensure transparency and detect any potential malpractice. All candidates were informed in advance about the schedule and venue of the scrutiny.

The scrutiny process, carried out in the presence of 121 Returning Officers and 121 General Observers, also saw active participation from around 455 candidates or their agents. The Commission stated that the exercise was completed smoothly across all polling stations.

After examining the records, the ECI confirmed that no discrepancy or malpractice was detected during the Phase-I polling, and therefore, no re-poll was recommended. The entire scrutiny was videographed, and following completion, Forms 17A and related materials were re-sealed with the Returning Officers’ official seal.

The press note was issued by Deputy Director P. Pawan on Friday.
