Chhattisgarh Ready for Paddy Procurement at Support Price from November 15

TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 13, 2025: With the paddy procurement season set to begin across Chhattisgarh from November 15, all necessary arrangements have been completed at procurement centers to ensure a smooth and transparent process for farmers. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has directed officials to ensure that no farmer faces any inconvenience while selling their produce. He emphasized that every possible facility should be made available at procurement centers, reaffirming the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and efficient management of the procurement process.

Under the supervision of district collectors, the Cooperative, Markfed, and Food Departments have jointly finalized all preparations. This year, 2,739 procurement centers have been established across the state to facilitate the purchase of paddy from registered farmers. Special attention has been given to creating a farmer-friendly environment at these centers, with arrangements for shaded waiting areas, seating facilities, drinking water, stalls, platforms, and proper storage for paddy.

Collectors and senior administrative officials are conducting on-site inspections in their respective districts to review preparations and address any remaining gaps before the procurement drive begins. Adequate arrangements have also been made for the timely lifting and transportation of purchased paddy to prevent congestion or delays at the centers.

In view of past instances of unauthorized movement of paddy, the state government has strengthened border surveillance to curb illegal transportation and sale. Checkposts have been established at inter-state borders, and officials have been instructed to maintain strict vigilance throughout the procurement period. To ensure safety and transparency, CCTV cameras are being installed at procurement centers to monitor storage areas, record transactions, and maintain real-time oversight of the entire operation.

Officials engaged in the procurement process have been instructed to ensure adequate supply of gunny bags and to issue sufficient tokens to all committees, so that farmers can sell their produce without long waiting periods. They have also been directed to prepare contingency measures in case of unseasonal rainfall, including proper drainage systems and the provision of tarpaulins to protect the harvested grain.

To enhance convenience for farmers, micro ATMs have been installed at cooperative committees, allowing farmers to withdraw cash immediately after selling their produce to meet urgent expenses. The Cooperative Department has ensured that banking facilities remain functional throughout the procurement period.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated that the government’s top priority is to ensure fair, timely, and hassle-free procurement for every farmer. He also warned that strict action will be taken against any instances of irregularity or illegal activity during the process. The state’s elaborate preparedness reflects Chhattisgarh’s commitment to protecting farmer interests and maintaining transparency in one of its most crucial agricultural operations.
