Semiconductor Plant to Come Up in Chhattisgarh, Youth to Receive Global Skill Training

TFP Bureau, Raipur, November 21, 2025: Chhattisgarh is set to enter a new era of advanced technology with Polymatech Electronics establishing a major semiconductor manufacturing plant in the state. The development marks a significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s industrial growth, strengthening its position in India’s rapidly expanding high-technology ecosystem. The initiative is also creating exceptional opportunities for local youth, who will receive world-class technical training in India and abroad.

Polymatech Electronics Private Limited, India’s first semiconductor chip manufacturing company, will invest Rs. 1,143 crore to set up a state-of-the-art plant spread over 1.5 lakh square feet. The unit aims to produce nearly 10 billion chips by 2030, supplying critical components for telecom networks, 6G/7G applications, power electronics, laptops and numerous emerging technology sectors. The project is expected to generate substantial direct and indirect employment across the state.

As part of the first recruitment cycle, the company has selected 12 candidates from various districts of Chhattisgarh, primarily engineering and commerce graduates. Those selected include Aabhaar Mehunkaar (Durg), Abhishek Kashi (Bhilai), Naveen Kumar Dewangan (Balod), Kunal Yadav (Raipur), Tushar Devangan (Bastar), Apoorv Devangan (Raipur), Dhara Sarpay (Bhilai), Arin Soni (Raipur), Taru Yadav (Raigarh), Tushar Kumar Thakur (Bhilai), Bhupendra Yadav (Raipur) and Abish C. Thomas (Balod).

According to company officials, the selected youth will undergo advanced training in Chennai, where Polymatech will cover air travel, accommodation and meal expenses. This will be followed by further specialised training at the company’s international facilities in Estonia, Singapore and France. By March 2026, the number of selected candidates from Chhattisgarh is expected to rise to around 200–250.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the initiative marks a transformative moment for the state’s technological and industrial development. He stated that Polymatech’s decision to select and train Chhattisgarh’s youth in global institutions reflects the growing recognition of their talent and potential. He added that this opportunity will equip candidates with cutting-edge semiconductor expertise and help build a robust high-technology workforce for the future.
