TFP Bureau, Raipur, December 16, 2025: In a major boost to peace-building efforts in the Bastar region, as many as 34 Maoist cadres carrying a cumulative bounty of ₹84 lakh surrendered in Bijapur district on Tuesday, renouncing violence and pledging allegiance to the Indian Constitution. The development marks another significant milestone in the state government’s ongoing campaign to restore peace, trust and development in Left-Wing Extremism-affected areas.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described the surrender as a positive outcome of sustained and people-centric efforts to make Chhattisgarh Naxal-free. He said the achievement reflects the state’s firm commitment to peace under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the decisive guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah.
Referring to the state’s ‘Poona Margem’ policy, the Chief Minister said the initiative has clearly demonstrated that dialogue, sensitivity and development are more effective and humane solutions than violence. “This surrender is not just the laying down of arms. It is a conscious step towards a dignified life, free from fear, confusion and coercion,” he said.
Shri Sai emphasised that the government will ensure comprehensive rehabilitation of all surrendered cadres. He said the state is committed to providing security, livelihood assistance, skill development opportunities and social reintegration support so that those who return to the mainstream can rebuild their lives with dignity and self-reliance.
The Chief Minister once again appealed to misguided youth in extremist-affected regions to shun violence and place their faith in democracy and constitutional values. He urged them to participate actively in the development journey of the state and the nation, stressing that opportunities for education, employment and progress await those who choose peace.
Reiterating the government’s resolve, Shri Sai said Chhattisgarh is steadily moving towards becoming a state defined by peace, trust and a bright future. “This commitment is unwavering,” he said, adding that coordinated and sustained efforts at all levels will continue until the goal of lasting peace and inclusive development is fully realised across the state.
