State’s Republic Day tableau offers vivid portrayal of tribal life, heritage and fusion of tradition with modern technology
TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 23, 2026: Chhattisgarh’s tableau drew widespread attention during the full dress rehearsal on Kartavya Path ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, captivating spectators with a colourful and culturally rich presentation rooted in the State’s tribal heritage. The tableau offered a vibrant glimpse of the lifestyle, traditional art forms, folk dances, distinctive costumes and historical legacy of Chhattisgarh’s tribal communities.
This year’s Chhattisgarh tableau has been designed around the theme of the country’s first Tribal Digital Museum, highlighting the State’s pioneering initiative to preserve and promote tribal culture through the use of modern technology. The presentation creatively depicted how age-old traditions and customs are being documented, showcased and transmitted to future generations in a digital format.
During the rehearsal, the tableau stood out for its artistic detailing and visual storytelling. Traditional tribal motifs, sculptures and performances were seamlessly combined with modern elements to reflect the evolving identity of tribal society. Folk dancers and performers in traditional attire added movement and colour, symbolising the living cultural heritage of the State.
Officials said the tableau aims to convey Chhattisgarh’s commitment to safeguarding its rich tribal legacy while embracing technological innovation. By focusing on the Tribal Digital Museum, the State has sought to present a forward-looking vision that blends cultural preservation with digital advancement on a national platform.
