Higher Education Department Releases Final Selection List for Laboratory Technician Recruitment

Twenty-six candidates selected from the waiting list against vacancies arising after resignations and non-joining; counselling for postings scheduled on February 12 in Nava Raipur.

TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 10, 2026: The Higher Education Department has completed the long-pending selection process under the Laboratory Technician Recruitment–2023 and released the final selection list of 26 candidates. The list has been prepared on the basis of the recruitment examination conducted by Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (Vyapam) and subsequent document verification, officials said.

According to the department, a total of 28 laboratory technician posts had become vacant after the initial round of appointments. These vacancies arose due to a combination of reasons, including written resignations submitted by selected candidates, absence during counselling, and failure to join duties even after appointment orders were issued. To ensure that essential laboratory services in government colleges are not affected, the department decided to fill these posts from the waiting list of eligible candidates.

Out of the 26 candidates finally selected, 21 belong to the general category, while five candidates have been selected under the ex-servicemen quota. The selection list includes both male and female candidates, reflecting a balanced representation. However, officials clarified that a few posts could not be filled due to the non-availability of eligible candidates in certain reserved categories, and these positions will remain vacant for the time being as per recruitment norms.

The department has directed all selected candidates to attend counselling for allotment of postings in government colleges across the state. The counselling will be held on February 12, 2026, at 10.30 am at the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, Directorate, Third Floor, Indravati Bhawan, Nava Raipur. Candidates have been instructed to report on time and carry all original documents along with self-attested copies for verification.

Officials said that the appointment of laboratory technicians is crucial for strengthening practical education in science departments of government colleges. The recruitment process aims to ensure adequate technical support for laboratories, thereby improving the quality of higher education and academic infrastructure in the state.

The Higher Education Department has appealed to the selected candidates to carefully follow the instructions issued for counselling and posting, adding that failure to appear may result in forfeiture of candidature. Further details related to counselling and postings are available through official departmental communication channels. Click to See here fill list👇
