India AI Impact Summit 2026: Education Ministry to Chart AI-in-Education Roadmap as PM Modi Hails Youth-Led Tech Surge

Special session at Bharat Mandapam to spotlight large-scale AI integration in education, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls the summit a symbol of India’s scientific progress and youth power

TFP Bureau, New Delhi, February 16, 2026: As India positions itself at the forefront of global artificial intelligence innovation, the Ministry of Education will host a high-level session titled “Ministry of Education – Pushing the Frontier of AI in India” at the **India AI Impact Summit 2026 on February 17 at Bharat Mandapam. The session will focus on India’s transition from AI policy vision to nationwide implementation in the education sector.

The session will be attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of State for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Jayant Chaudhary, underscoring the government’s emphasis on leveraging artificial intelligence as a transformative force across school education, higher education, skilling and research ecosystems.

The initiative aligns with the goals of the **National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, which aims to make India a developed nation by the centenary of Independence. Over the past decade, the Ministry has laid strong foundations for AI-enabled education through digital public infrastructure, policy frameworks, institutional reforms and large-scale capacity-building programmes.

The Education Ministry’s AI journey has gathered pace following last year’s Union Budget announcement for establishing a Centre of Excellence in AI for Education at IIT Madras. The Ministry has also undertaken extensive consultations with academia, industry, startups, civil society and government bodies to frame a robust and responsible roadmap for AI integration. Recently, senior leadership engaged with AI startup founders in the education domain and convened the two-day Bharat Bodhan AI Conclave 2026 to deepen stakeholder collaboration.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hailed the India AI Impact Summit as a landmark moment for the country, describing it as a testament to India’s youthful talent and growing global stature in science and technology. Welcoming global leaders, innovators and experts to India, the Prime Minister said the summit reflected the nation’s rapid progress in frontier technologies and its increasing contribution to global development.

In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister invoked an ancient Sanskrit subhashitam to underline the importance of knowledge, discipline and scientific temper, noting that India’s land is rich in intellectual and human capital. He said the strong global participation at the summit highlighted international confidence in India’s innovation ecosystem and the capabilities of its young workforce.

The Ministry of Education’s session at the summit will showcase how AI initiatives are being scaled through public digital platforms, Centres of Excellence, teacher training programmes, curriculum integration and deep collaboration with industry and startups. The emphasis will be on systemic, outcome-driven interventions rather than isolated pilot projects, with a focus on responsible deployment of frontier AI models.

The panel discussion will feature prominent leaders from academia, industry and the investment ecosystem, including Sridhar Vembu, Rajan Anandan, Manindra Agrawal, V Kamakoti and Sunita Sarawagi, among others. The session will be moderated by Manoj S Gaur.

Discussions will centre on governance frameworks, indigenous AI innovation, national learning platforms and ethical deployment of advanced AI systems to reshape education outcomes. The session aims to brainstorm India’s national AI-in-education roadmap while strengthening industry–academia–government collaboration for sustainable, large-scale impact.

With strong political leadership, policy clarity and a rapidly expanding innovation ecosystem, India AI Impact Summit 2026 is emerging as a defining platform showcasing how the country is harnessing artificial intelligence to empower its youth and transform education for the future.
