Inaugurating and laying foundation stones for 141 works, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai says strengthened infrastructure will accelerate growth, improve public services and uplift quality of life in remote regions
TFP Bureau, Raipur/Podi, February 16, 2026: Development initiatives in Podi received a major boost on Sunday as Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a slew of infrastructure and public utility projects worth over ₹126 crore in the Manendragarh–Chirmiri–Bharatpur district. The ceremony marked a significant step towards accelerating regional development and improving civic amenities in the area.
During the programme held in Podi, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 59 new development works with an estimated cost exceeding ₹88 crore, while also inaugurating 82 completed projects valued at more than ₹38 crore. The projects span key sectors such as road connectivity, public buildings, community infrastructure and essential services, aimed at strengthening the region’s development framework.
Addressing a large gathering of local residents, public representatives and officials, Chief Minister Sai said the newly launched projects would bring tangible improvements in daily life by enhancing connectivity, accessibility to services and overall infrastructure quality. He noted that better roads, upgraded public facilities and modern civic infrastructure would not only meet present needs but also create new opportunities for economic and social growth.
“The objective of our government is not limited to making announcements. Our focus is on timely implementation, quality execution and transparent delivery of development works on the ground,” the Chief Minister said. He added that the state government is pursuing a result-oriented governance model to ensure that every region progresses in a balanced and inclusive manner.
Emphasising equitable development, Shri Sai said special priority is being given to remote and tribal areas so that the benefits of growth reach the last mile. He highlighted that continuous investments are being made across sectors such as education, healthcare, drinking water supply, roads, housing and public services to improve living standards and strengthen human development indicators.
The Chief Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to creating durable infrastructure that supports long-term growth and employment generation. Improved connectivity and public amenities, he said, would help integrate backward areas with mainstream development while encouraging private investment and local entrepreneurship.
Senior officials briefed the Chief Minister on the progress and scope of the projects, assuring timely completion as per prescribed standards. Local representatives welcomed the development package, terming it a landmark intervention for the area.
With the launch of these projects, Chhattisgarh continues to push forward its agenda of inclusive growth, focusing on infrastructure-led development to bridge regional disparities and ensure that the fruits of progress reach every corner of the state.
