High-level subject-expert committee to verify eligibility of 35 candidates under UGC norms, marking a renewed push for transparency and quality in higher education recruitment
TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 19, 2026: In a major step aimed at accelerating long-pending faculty appointments while reinforcing transparency and academic standards, the Higher Education Department, Chhattisgarh has constituted a high-level subject-expert committee to scrutinise the eligibility of candidates under the Professor (Higher Education) Examination-2021. The move is expected to clear the way for recruitment to 595 vacant professor posts across government colleges in the state.

Based on its findings, the final eligibility of these candidates will be determined, enabling the recruitment process to move forward without delay.
According to official sources, the initiative follows a communication dated December 11, 2025, from the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, which had formally requested the Higher Education Department to form a subject-expert panel.
