Facility on campus to provide timely, discounted medicines for patients in Korba and nearby areas

In a step aimed at strengthening local healthcare access, BALCO Medical Center has inaugurated a new on-campus pharmacy designed to provide patients with convenient, affordable and timely access to essential medicines.
The facility was inaugurated by Rajesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, along with Bhavna Sirohi, Medical Director of the hospital, in the presence of hospital officials, staff members and invited guests.
Hospital authorities said the new pharmacy has been established to ensure that patients and their families no longer need to travel to distant parts of the city to obtain prescribed medicines. The store will stock a wide range of essential drugs—from routine medications to specialized treatment medicines—available under one roof. Special discounts will also be offered, helping reduce treatment costs and ensuring that patients receive medicines without delay.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kumar described the initiative as a significant step toward improving accessible and reliable healthcare services for residents of the region. He noted that providing treatment and medicines within the same premises would simplify the care process for patients and enhance overall convenience.
Officials added that the initiative reflects the company’s continuing commitment to community health development and to strengthening medical infrastructure in the region. They expressed confidence that the new facility will ease logistical burdens on patients, support faster treatment cycles and contribute to better health outcomes for people in Korba and surrounding areas.
