CSR initiative by Korba Power aims to boost rural infrastructure, ease monsoon woes
TFP Bureau, Korba, February 26,2026 : In a fresh push towards rural infrastructure development, the Adani Foundation on Wednesday performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a 500-metre-long cement concrete (CC) road in Urga Gram Panchayat of Korba district under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The project, funded by Korba Power Limited, is expected to significantly ease transportation challenges faced by villagers, particularly during the monsoon season when mud and waterlogging disrupt daily movement. Residents said the paved road would improve connectivity and provide a fresh impetus to development in the area.
Local Representatives Welcome Initiative
The ceremony was attended by Urga Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Lalita Samelal, Deputy Sarpanch Sanat Diwakar, former District Panchayat members Ramchandra Patle and Chandrakanta Krishna Rajput, along with several Panchayat representatives and villagers. Speakers at the event lauded the company’s efforts, describing the initiative as a meaningful step toward strengthening rural infrastructure.
Officials from the CSR wing of Adani Power were also present, reaffirming the company’s commitment to community-centric development.
Broader Development Efforts Underway
The Foundation is currently implementing projects related to education, healthcare, and infrastructure development in 14 villages across the Korba region, including Patadi, Sargbundia, Dhandhani, Pahanda, Katbitla, and Khoddal.
Notably, a similar groundbreaking ceremony for a community forum was held last week in Katbitla village, reflecting the organisation’s sustained outreach efforts.
Working under the theme “Community First,” the Adani Foundation has been periodically undertaking social and infrastructure development initiatives in its operational areas and has pledged to continue supporting grassroots development in the region.
