Chief Minister Shri Sai Highlights Role of Chartered Accountants in Chhattisgarh’s Growth Vision for 2047

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 29, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai lauded Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s comprehensive economic reforms, stating that they have been instrumental in propelling India to become the fifth largest economy in the world. During his address at the national workshop ‘National Conference on Bank Audit and AI,’ organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in Raipur today, he credited the GST and tax reforms for simplifying the tax system and bolstering revenue collection. He emphasized the pivotal role played by Chartered Accountants in India’s growth journey, particularly as the country sets its sights on becoming a developed nation by 2047.

At the event, CM Sai also unveiled the special logo of CA Chhattisgarh, marking the occasion.

AI: A Game-Changer for the Future

Chief Minister Sai acknowledged that the intellectual community is quick to embrace new technologies, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) being one of the most transformative. He highlighted how AI will not only enhance the Chartered Accountant profession but also significantly improve the quality and efficiency of the sector. Additionally, he discussed the potential opportunities and challenges posed by AI in shaping the future.

ICAI’s Journey: From Humble Beginnings to a Strong Organization

Shri Sai also recognized the historic achievement of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which began in 1949 with just 1,600 members and has now grown into a robust institution with over 400,000 members. He praised the institute for fulfilling its economic responsibilities nationwide and contributing immensely to India’s development.

Chhattisgarh’s Investment Boom: Over ₹4 Lakh Crore in Proposals

Touching on Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy, Chief Minister Sai outlined how the policy is attracting investors and addressing the needs of all sectors. With over ₹4 lakh crore in investment proposals received, he noted that the state’s access to rare minerals like lithium, alongside plans for establishing a semiconductor industry, will provide a significant boost to its economy. He highlighted the state’s rapid development in the past 15 months and the increasing employment opportunities as a result of effective governance and the implementation of public welfare schemes.

Chhattisgarh’s Role in a Developed India by 2047

Referring to the Chhattisgarh Vision Document 2047, CM Sai assured that the state will play a leading role in contributing to the creation of a developed India. He affirmed that more than 3,000 Chartered Accountants in the state will be instrumental in this journey.

ICAI National President Shri Charanjot Singh Nanda shared insights into the institution’s development, from its humble beginnings in 1949 to its current stature. He stressed the responsibilities and challenges faced by Chartered Accountants and expressed confidence that the CAs across the country would collectively contribute to realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047.

The event was attended by various prominent personalities, including State Media Incharge CA Mr. Amit Chimanani, CA Mr. Pankaj Shah, CA Mr. Abhay Chhajed, CA Mr. Vikas Golchha, and members from ICAI’s Raipur, Bhilai, Bilaspur, and Raigarh branches.
