Chhattisgarh’s First Ayurveda University to Open in Raipur, Announces Education Minister Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal

Inauguration of Ayurveda Alumni Meet “Golden Kumbh”

TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 28, 2024: State Education Minister Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal unveiled plans for Chhattisgarh’s inaugural Ayurveda University, set to be established in the state’s capital, Raipur. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the two-day Ayurveda Alumni Meet, “Swarna Kumbh,” held at Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurveda College on Saturday. The event also saw the felicitation of esteemed alumni who have contributed to the field of Ayurveda both nationally and internationally.

Minister Aggarwal underscored the integral role of Ayurveda in daily life, emphasizing that every home’s kitchen serves as an Ayurvedic medicine center. He highlighted the ancient origins of Ayurveda, citing instances such as Vaidyaraj Sushen saving Shri Lakshman ji’s life in Lanka, showcasing the system’s efficacy even in the absence of allopathy. Minister Aggarwal noted that Ayurveda faced marginalization during the British era but experienced a resurgence under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s support for AYUSH. He credited Ayurvedic remedies for playing a significant role in saving lives during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Expressing the need for increased awareness about Ayurveda, Minister Aggarwal stated that individuals can achieve a healthy body by understanding and utilizing Ayurvedic principles. The Ayurveda Alumni Meet provided an opportunity for attendees to reminisce about their student days, reconnect with old friends, and acknowledge those who tirelessly advocated for Ayurveda’s recognition alongside allopathy.

The event witnessed the presence of notable personalities, including former MP Dr. Bhushanlal Jangde, poet Dr. Surendra Dubey, and Principal Dr. G. R Chaturvedi, Joint Director AYUSH Dr. Sunil Kumar Das, Chairman of the Organizing Committee Dr. Patanjali Diwan, Dr. Shiv Narayan Dwivedi, and Dr. Harendra Shukla. The announcement of Chhattisgarh’s first Ayurveda University marks a significant step towards strengthening the prominence of Ayurveda in the state’s educational landscape.
