Australian Consul General Bernard Lynch Calls on Chhattisgarh Chief Minister

Discussions Focus on Development Initiatives, Tribal Welfare and Possibilities of International Cooperation

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 7, 2026: Australian Consul General Bernard Lynch paid a courtesy visit to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur on Monday. The meeting focused on strengthening engagement and exploring opportunities for cooperation in areas related to development, welfare initiatives and capacity building.

During the interaction, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai briefed the Australian Consul General about various development programmes being implemented by the state government, particularly those aimed at improving the quality of life in tribal and rural areas. He highlighted the state government’s focused efforts to strengthen health services, enhance access to safe drinking water and improve nutrition among vulnerable communities.

The Chief Minister said that the government is working with a mission to ensure that essential services and development benefits reach the remotest villages of the state. He noted that special attention is being given to tribal-dominated regions to improve health infrastructure, maternal and child nutrition, and clean drinking water facilities.

Shri Sai further stated that the state government is keen to explore possibilities of collaboration with international partners to strengthen these initiatives. He added that cooperation in areas such as healthcare systems, nutrition programmes, water management and community development could help enhance the effectiveness and reach of ongoing welfare schemes.

Australian Consul General Bernard Lynch appreciated the development initiatives being undertaken by the state government and expressed interest in understanding the opportunities for knowledge exchange and partnership in areas of mutual interest.

As a mark of courtesy and cultural exchange, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai presented the Consul General with a bell metal figurine crafted by local artisans of Chhattisgarh, symbolising the state’s rich traditional craftsmanship.

Several senior officials were also present during the meeting. These included Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri P. Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Special Secretary Shri Rajat Bansal and Senior Economic Research Officer Ms. Anagha, along with other officials of the state government.
