State recognised as Best Performing Large State for efficient monitoring and swift processing of suspicious claims under PM-JAY
TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 18, 2026: Chhattisgarh has earned national recognition for its effective implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, securing two prestigious awards at a national review meeting organised by the National Health Authority in Pune. The awards were presented during the authority’s two-day Chintan Shivirheld on April 17 and 18, where Chhattisgarh was honoured as the Best Performing Large State in two key categories.
The state received awards in the High Trigger Efficacy category for accurately identifying and analysing suspicious claims, and in the Timely Processing of Suspicious Claims category for ensuring quick and time-bound disposal of flagged claims under the health insurance scheme.
Officials said the recognition highlights the state’s strong monitoring system supported by advanced information technology tools, a robust claim audit framework and an efficient trigger-based surveillance mechanism. These systems have helped authorities detect irregular claims promptly and ensure that they are reviewed and resolved without delay.
Through better coordination between government agencies and empanelled hospitals, the claim verification process has become faster and more transparent. This has improved the overall efficiency of the scheme while ensuring that genuine beneficiaries receive timely and hassle-free healthcare services.
Expressing happiness over the achievement, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the national honour reflects the state government’s commitment to building a transparent, accountable and citizen-centric healthcare system. He stated that the government’s objective is to ensure that high-quality healthcare services reach the last person in society without financial burden.
The Chief Minister noted that technology-driven monitoring, better management systems and continuous reforms have significantly strengthened healthcare delivery in the state. He credited the success to the dedicated efforts of officials of the Health Department, healthcare professionals and institutions associated with the scheme.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal also welcomed the recognition, stating that the awards are the result of consistent improvements made by the state in implementing the scheme effectively. He said the government remains committed to providing free and quality medical treatment to eligible citizens under Ayushman Bharat.
Jaiswal added that the achievement reflects the collective efforts of healthcare workers, administrative teams and partner hospitals working under the scheme. He expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh will continue to deliver strong performance and set new benchmarks in public healthcare while keeping citizens’ welfare at the centre of governance.
The awards are expected to further strengthen Chhattisgarh’s reputation as one of the leading states in the country in implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme efficiently, ensuring transparency in claim processing and expanding access to quality healthcare for millions of beneficiaries.
