New Urban Administration Secretary Sangita R. Reviews Schemes at Indravati Bhawan

Holds detailed meeting with officials, stresses timely and transparent implementation of urban development programmes

TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 11, 2026: The newly appointed Secretary of the Urban Administration and Development Department, Smt. Sangita R., arrived at Indravati Bhawan in Nava Raipur on Monday and conducted a comprehensive review of departmental functioning and ongoing urban development schemes.

Soon after assuming charge, Sangita R. inspected the Directorate of Urban Administration and the office of the State Urban Development Authority (SUDA). She toured various sections of the office, interacted with officials and staff, and encouraged them to maintain punctuality, administrative efficiency, and dedication in their work.

During the visit, the Secretary held one-on-one discussions with officials from the department and SUDA to review the progress of several key government schemes. She directed officers to ensure the timely, transparent and high-quality implementation of all ongoing programmes.

Later, Sangita R. chaired a review meeting at Indravati Bhawan, where she sought detailed information on departmental operations and the status of major urban development initiatives. The review included schemes related to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), urban infrastructure development, sanitation, drinking water supply, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).

Emphasising the guiding principle of “Sarvajan Hitay” (welfare of all), the Secretary urged officials to ensure time-bound implementation of schemes so that urban residents receive improved civic amenities and public services.

She also directed officials to regularly monitor ongoing projects and ensure that pending works are completed within the stipulated deadlines. Discussions were held on strengthening the implementation of departmental schemes, expediting administrative processes, and enhancing civic infrastructure in urban areas.

During the meeting, Sangita R. also shared that May 11 marks a special milestone in her career, as she joined the Indian Administrative Service on the same date in 2005. Recalling her journey in public service, she shared experiences from her administrative career with the officials present.

The meeting was attended by several senior officers of the department and SUDA, including SUDA Chief Executive Officer Shashank Pandey, Additional CEO Dushyant Kumar Rayast, Additional Director Pulak Bhattacharya, Chief Engineer Rajesh Sharma, and Joint Director Mithilesh Awasthi.
