Disciplined Hard Work and Dedication Key to Success, Says Principal Secretary Sonmani Bora

Senior official inspects PM-SHRI SEJAS School in Kumhari; interacts with students and felicitates toppers for outstanding performance

TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 12, 2026: Emphasising that success in life is achieved through disciplined hard work, dedication and sacrifice, Shri Sonmani Bora, Principal Secretary of the Department of Tribal, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class and Minority Development, on Monday inspected the PM-SHRI SEJAS School at Kumhari in Durg district.

Shri Bora, who is also the Secretary-in-charge of Durg district, undertook a comprehensive review of the school’s academic and infrastructural facilities. During the visit, he closely inspected various sections of the campus, including classrooms, the library, science laboratory, Atal Tinkering Lab, sports room and other academic blocks. Abhijit Singh, Collector of Durg, was present during the inspection.

The Principal Secretary expressed satisfaction over the facilities and innovative teaching practices being adopted at the school. He appreciated the ‘Jadui Pitara’ (Magic Box) activities conducted in the primary section, which aim to enhance foundational learning through creative methods. He also observed the use of digital tools and ‘Smart Classes’ in the middle section, noting that technology-enabled education can significantly enhance students’ understanding and engagement.

During an informal interaction session, Shri Bora engaged with students in a friendly manner, asking about their academic progress, co-curricular participation and future aspirations. He encouraged them to cultivate curiosity and a hunger for knowledge beyond textbooks.

Addressing the students, he remarked that true success does not come overnight but is the result of consistent effort, discipline and a willingness to make sacrifices. “From the early stages of your education, you must strive not only to excel in examinations but also to become knowledge-seekers and determined aspirants,” he said. He urged students to set clear goals and work steadily towards achieving them.

The officials reviewed the school’s recent academic performance and congratulated students for their impressive examination results at various levels. They interacted with toppers from different classes and felicitated them for bringing recognition to the institution.

Among those honoured was Ria Sahu, a Class 12 student who secured the fourth position at the state level. Sakshi Dewangan of Class 10 achieved eighth position at the district level. In Class 8, Payal Rajani and Naitik Amte secured first and second positions respectively at the cluster level. In the primary section, Class 5 student Shivani Patel stood first, while Bhavya Sahu and Rupali Sahu secured second position, earning accolades for their performance.

During the interaction, when asked about their career ambitions, students expressed aspirations to become Chartered Accountants, Cyber Engineers and District Collectors. Shri Bora and Collector Singh encouraged them to pursue their dreams with focus and perseverance, assuring them that consistent effort and the right guidance would pave the way for success.

The officials also commended the dedication of the teachers and staff, noting that the school’s academic achievements and active co-curricular environment reflect their commitment. They appreciated the balanced emphasis on academics, innovation, sports and character-building activities at the PM-SHRI SEJAS School.

Concluding the visit, Shri Bora reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and promoting quality learning in government institutions. He said that schools under the PM-SHRI initiative are expected to serve as model institutions, fostering holistic development and preparing students to compete at state and national levels.
