Raipur Region Records 80.88% Pass Rate in CBSE Class 12 Results 2026; CM Vishnu Deo Sai Congratulates Successful Students

National data shows strong southern performance while Raipur and several northern regions report higher compartment rates

TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 13, 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday declared the Class 12 Board Examination Results 2026, revealing distinct regional performance patterns across the country. While the Raipur region recorded a pass percentage of 80.88 per cent, national data showed that several southern regions once again dominated the top performance charts in terms of both pass percentage and lower compartment rates.

Reacting to the results, Vishnu Deo Sai, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, congratulated all students who successfully cleared the examinations and wished them success in their future academic and professional journeys.

In his message, the Chief Minister said the students’ achievements reflect their hard work, discipline and perseverance. He noted that their dedication and self-confidence have enabled them to reach an important milestone in life, setting an inspiring example for other students.

“Education is not merely about securing marks in examinations, but about building character, encouraging innovation and contributing to nation-building,” Sai said. He expressed confidence that students from Chhattisgarh would continue to excel in diverse fields such as science, technology, research, sports, arts and entrepreneurship, bringing recognition to the state and the country.

Raipur Among Regions With Moderate Performance

According to the CBSE regional data, the Raipur region reported a pass percentage of 80.88 per cent, placing it among the lower-performing regions compared to the national leaders. Other regions with relatively lower pass percentages included Prayagraj (72.43%), Patna (74.45%), Noida (79.02%), Bhopal (79.43%), Dehradun (81.71%) and Lucknow (82.21%).

The data also revealed that these regions recorded comparatively higher compartment percentages, indicating a larger number of students who will need to reappear in certain subjects. The Raipur region reported a compartment rate of 10.35 per cent, which remains lower than some northern regions such as Patna and Prayagraj but still significantly higher than the national top performers.

Southern Regions Dominate Performance Charts

In contrast, southern regions once again emerged as the strongest performers in the CBSE Class 12 results. Trivandrum topped the list with an impressive 95.62 per cent pass rate, followed by Chennai (93.84%), Bengaluru (93.19%) and Vijayawada (92.77%).

Two zones of Delhi—Delhi West (92.34%) and Delhi East (91.73%)—along with Ahmedabad (90.60%) also featured among the top-performing regions.

These regions not only achieved higher pass percentages but also reported the lowest compartment rates, indicating more consistent academic performance among students. Trivandrum recorded the lowest compartment percentage at 3.30 per cent, followed by Chennai (4.30%) and Bengaluru (4.58%).

Education analysts note that the data highlights a continuing north–south academic performance gap, with southern regions showing stronger pass rates and fewer borderline cases.

CM Highlights Role of Teachers and Parents

While congratulating the successful students, Chief Minister Sai also acknowledged the crucial role played by teachers and parents in shaping the achievements of young learners.

He said that the sacrifices made by parents and the continuous guidance provided by teachers create a supportive environment that helps students overcome challenges and achieve academic success.

The Chief Minister urged students to maintain a spirit of lifelong learning, remain focused on their goals and approach future challenges with optimism and determination. He emphasised that the true purpose of education lies in developing responsible citizens who contribute positively to society and the nation.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to youth development, Sai said the state administration is working to strengthen educational infrastructure, promote quality learning and provide greater opportunities for students across Chhattisgarh to realise their full potential.
