Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Vivekanandan said the partnership would encourage collaborative academic initiatives not only with the School of Law at Mahindra University but also across the university’s diverse academic disciplines.
“This MoU will help promote interdisciplinary engagement, especially in areas where law intersects with emerging domains such as technology, governance and innovation. Mahindra University has achieved remarkable professional and academic milestones in less than a decade of its establishment,” he said.
Prof. Medury highlighted that collaboration with one of India’s leading national law universities would open new opportunities for Mahindra University in academic networking and research.
“The partnership with HNLU will enable joint academic conferences, faculty visits and collaborative research initiatives. It will also strengthen Mahindra University’s growing focus on integrating law with technology and management education,” he said.
According to officials, the collaboration aims to move beyond isolated academic engagements and develop a sustained institutional partnership built on shared academic goals and research excellence.
Under the MoU, both institutions will work together to promote interdisciplinary research in areas such as law, technology, governance and public policy. The agreement also envisages joint supervision and mentoring of Ph.D. scholars and researchers, along with faculty and student exchange programmes.
The universities will also collaborate in organising conferences, workshops, training programmes, seminars and other academic events. Additionally, the partnership seeks to explore national and international research projects and funding opportunities.
Academic leaders from both institutions expressed confidence that the collaboration would enhance opportunities for students, researchers and faculty members while contributing to the evolving landscape of legal and interdisciplinary education in India.
The partnership is expected to strengthen academic innovation and promote meaningful dialogue on contemporary legal challenges, while preparing future professionals to address emerging global and societal issues.
