Administration Promotes Nano Urea and DAP; Strict Action Underway Against Black Marketing and Hoarding
TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 29,2026: The Rajnandgaon district administration has intensified preparations for the upcoming Kharif season by ensuring timely availability of fertilizers and seeds to farmers, while also promoting the use of alternative fertilizers such as Nano Urea and Nano DAP alongside conventional fertilizers.
Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and under the guidance of Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav, the Agriculture Department has undertaken extensive arrangements to support cultivation of paddy, pulses, and oilseed crops during the Kharif season.
Officials said a total fertilizer target of 68,690 metric tonnes has been fixed for the district through cooperative societies and the private sector as part of pre-Kharif planning.
At present, the district has an available stock of 41,509 metric tonnes of fertilizers, which is 34 per cent higher than the stock available during the corresponding period last year. The available stock includes 17,153 metric tonnes of urea, 4,088 metric tonnes of DAP, 10,129 metric tonnes of NPK, 3,382 metric tonnes of MOP, and 6,757 metric tonnes of Single Super Phosphate fertilizers.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Tikam Singh Thakur said fertilizers are being continuously distributed to farmers through cooperative societies across the district.
So far, fertilizers have been supplied to 14,972 farmers. Officials stated that 7,193 metric tonnes of urea, 1,807 metric tonnes of DAP, 4,669 metric tonnes of NPK, 1,322 metric tonnes of MOP, and 2,214 metric tonnes of Single Super Phosphate fertilizers have already been distributed for Kharif crops.
In addition, cooperative societies still have available stocks of 4,568 metric tonnes of urea, 1,032 metric tonnes of DAP, 3,082 metric tonnes of NPK, 1,364 metric tonnes of MOP, and 1,350 metric tonnes of Single Super Phosphate fertilizers.
To ensure timely supply of quality seeds, the district administration has fixed a target of 13,980 quintals of seeds for the season. Against this target, 6,036 quintals of seeds are currently available through the Seed Corporation. Out of the total stock, 3,201 quintals have been stored in cooperative societies, while 1,085 quintals have already been distributed to farmers.
Officials said continuous stocking of seeds is being carried out in coordination with the District Marketing Officer and the District Cooperative Central Bank based on demand from cooperative societies.
The administration has also stepped up enforcement measures to prevent black marketing, diversion, smuggling, and hoarding of fertilizers. Flying squads have been formed at district and block levels to conduct regular inspections of fertilizer sales centres.
During inspections, notices were issued to 28 sales centres for irregularities. Authorities also seized fertilizer stocks and sealed premises of seven centres, while licenses of five private fertilizer dealers were suspended.
The Agriculture Department stated that regular inspections will continue across the district and strict action will be taken against any violations related to fertilizer distribution and storage.
