Health teams conduct door-to-door campaign covering 2,357 households to ensure no child misses immunisation
TFP Bureau, Korba, June 30,2026: BALCO Hospital successfully carried out the National Pulse Polio Immunisation Campaign, administering polio vaccine doses to more than 800 children through fixed centres, mobile units, and an extensive door-to-door outreach programme.
Organised under the leadership of Dr. Vivek Sinha, Chief Medical Officer of BALCO Hospital, the campaign was inaugurated by BALCO CEO and Whole-time Director Rajesh Kumar Singh. Doctors, paramedical staff, and health workers joined hands to ensure comprehensive immunisation coverage across the township and surrounding areas.
As part of the campaign, vaccination camps were set up at over 12 locations, including BALCO Hospital, Bhadrapara, Kailash Nagar, Parsabhatha, Checkpost, Satnam Nagar, Daihanpara, BALCO Bus Stand, Belgiri Basti, the Sector-3 Durga Puja Pandal, and the Sector-4 Gas Agency. Mobile vaccination teams also travelled to different localities to reach children who could not visit the camps.
To ensure that no eligible child was left out, BALCO Hospital conducted a two-day door-to-door survey and vaccination drive, covering 2,357 households. Special camps were established at bus stands and other crowded public places to vaccinate children of travelling families, while health workers educated parents on the importance of complete immunisation and the country’s polio eradication mission.
Speaking on the occasion, BALCO CEO Rajesh Kumar Singh said protecting children from polio is a collective responsibility and that the campaign aimed not only to immunise children but also to strengthen health awareness among families. He said BALCO would continue supporting preventive healthcare initiatives and government immunisation programmes to help build a healthier society.
Local resident Somnath Patel appreciated the initiative, stating that his two-year-old daughter received the Pulse Polio dose at BALCO Hospital and that health workers also visited his home to ensure no child was left without vaccination.
The 125-bed BALCO Hospital provides healthcare services to residents of Korba, Raigarh, Bilaspur, and Janjgir-Champa districts and continues to play an active role in implementing national health and immunisation programmes in collaboration with government agencies.
