TFP Bureau Raipur, April 7, 2025: Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, hosted a successful One-Day National Conference titled “Exploring India’s Infrastructure Landscape: Challenges, Opportunities, and the Road Ahead” on Saturday, April 5, 2025. The virtual event was organized by HNLU’s Centre for Infrastructure Laws and Centre for Law and Public Health, both part of the School of Law and Public Policy.
The conference brought together a distinguished panel of scholars, academicians, legal professionals, policymakers, and students from across the country to discuss critical issues surrounding India’s infrastructure development. Topics such as legal frameworks, regulatory challenges, public-private partnerships, environmental considerations, and sustainable legal mechanisms for infrastructure development were explored during the discussions.
Regulatory Frameworks and Sustainability Take Center Stage
Shri Sanjay Shukla, Chairman of RERA Chhattisgarh, inaugurated the conference as the Chief Guest. In his address, Shukla emphasized the importance of establishing a transparent and robust regulatory framework to ensure sustainable growth within the infrastructure sector. Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Registrar (I/c) of HNLU, welcomed the participants and highlighted the role of interdisciplinary academic initiatives in addressing real-world policy challenges.
The conference featured four parallel technical sessions focusing on key aspects of infrastructure law and policy: regulatory frameworks, public-private partnerships, environmental considerations, and sustainable legal mechanisms. These sessions included presentations from researchers, faculty members, and students, leading to insightful discussions on how to navigate the complexities of India’s infrastructure landscape.
Innovation and Interdisciplinary Collaboration Highlighted
In the valedictory session, Prof. (Dr.) Ram Kumar Kakani, Director of IIM Raipur, delivered a keynote address stressing the importance of innovative governance and interdisciplinary collaboration in unlocking the potential of India’s infrastructure sector. He emphasized that future growth hinges on an integrated approach between law, governance, and public policy.
Dr. Deepak Srivastava, Registrar and Director of the School of Law & Governance, welcomed the gathering, underlining the significance of academic collaboration in addressing practical policy challenges. In his concluding remarks, Prof. (Dr.) Yogendra Kumar Srivastava, Dean (PG) & Director of the School of Law & Public Policy, commended the efforts of the organizing centers and encouraged further exploration at the intersection of law and public policy to meet the needs of India’s infrastructure development.
The conference, marked by vibrant discussions and forward-looking insights, served as an essential platform for emerging voices in the fields of infrastructure law and governance. The event was organized by Dr. Parvesh Rajput, Head of the Centre for Infrastructure Laws, and Mr. Aasuthosh Ahire, Head of the Centre for Law and Public Health, alongside faculty members.
