TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 10, 2025: In a major boost to Chhattisgarh’s industrial and digital infrastructure, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will lay the foundation stone for the state’s first semiconductor manufacturing plant in Nava Raipur on April 11. The plant, to be established by Polymatech Electronics Private Limited, marks a significant milestone in the state’s ambition to become a hub for high-tech industries.
In addition to the foundation-laying ceremony, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate the Jharia Alkaline Water Bottling Plant and launch a new e-auto public transport service in Nava Raipur. The event is being organized jointly by the Department of Commerce and Industry and the Housing and Environment Department. Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan and Housing and Environment Minister Shri OP Choudhary will also be present as guests of honour.
Rs 1,143-Crore Semiconductor Plant to Create Over 130 Jobs
Polymatech Electronics, India’s first semiconductor chip manufacturing company, will invest Rs 1,143 crore to set up a state-of-the-art facility spread across 1.5 lakh square feet. The plant is projected to produce 10 billion chips by 2030, catering to sectors such as telecom, advanced wireless communication (6G/7G), laptops, and power electronics. The initiative is expected to generate direct employment for over 130 individuals.
Push for IT Hub: CM to Allot Space to Tech Firms in Commercial Tower
In a move aimed at transforming Nava Raipur into a thriving IT hub, CM Sai will allocate fully-furnished office space to IT companies in the newly constructed commercial tower. The government expects this initiative to create employment for around 750 individuals. On the same occasion, the Chief Minister will hand over appointment letters to selected youth, furthering the state’s employment drive.
Women-Led E-Auto Transport Service to Improve Urban Connectivity
Adding to the day’s developments, CM Sai will also launch a public e-auto transport service, to be operated by women’s self-help groups. The service will enhance last-mile connectivity in Nava Raipur, linking residential zones with offices, the airport, railway station, and jungle safari over a 130-kilometre network. This initiative will offer employment opportunities to 40 women while improving eco-friendly transport options in the city.
Inauguration of Jharia Alkaline Water Bottling Plant
Further bolstering public health infrastructure, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the Jharia Alkaline Water Bottling Plant. The facility aims to provide clean and safe drinking water to citizens and promote access to high-quality bottled alkaline water.
