Major reshuffle in Forest Department; several DFOs assigned new postings across the state
TFP Bureau, Raipur, August 8, 2026: The Chhattisgarh government has ordered a major reshuffle of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers, transferring 24 officers to new postings with immediate effect and until further orders.
The transfers have been made on administrative grounds, according to an order issued by the Forest and Climate Change Department at Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur.
Among the key changes, Ganveer Dhammasheel (IFS 2013), currently serving as Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Balodabazar, has been posted as Special Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department, on deputation. Uttam Kumar Gupta (IFS 2013), DFO, Bastar, has been appointed In-charge Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Field Director, Indravati Tiger Reserve, Jagdalpur.
Duleshwar Prasad Sahu (IFS 2013) has been transferred from Surajpur to Manendragarh, while Pankaj Rajput (IFS 2014) has been posted as DFO, Raipur, from Khairagarh. Prabhakar Khalkho (IFS 2014) has been assigned as In-charge Conservator of Forests, Working Plan Forest Division, Surguja, Ambikapur.
Sandeep Balga (IFS 2015) has been posted as DFO, East Bhanupratappur, from Indravati Tiger Reserve, Bijapur. Mayank Pandey (IFS 2015) will serve as DFO, Gariyaband, after being transferred from Mahasamund. Satyadev Sharma (IFS 2015), currently on deputation with the Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation, has been posted as DFO, Dharamjaigarh.
Srinivas Takketi (IFS 2015) has been transferred from Elephant Reserve, Surguja, Ambikapur, to the post of DFO, Mahasamund, while Jitendra Kumar Upadhyay (IFS 2015) has been posted as DFO, Katghora, from Dharamjaigarh. Sanjay Yadav (IFS 2015), who was on deputation with the Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation, has been posted as DFO, Khairagarh, with his deputation being withdrawn.
Kumar Nishant (IFS 2016) has been transferred from Katghora to Marwahi, while Pankaj Kumar Kamal (IFS 2016), currently on deputation with the Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation, has been posted as DFO, Balodabazar, with his deputation withdrawn. Pushpalata Tandon (IFS 2016) has been posted as DFO, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh.
Loknath Patel (IFS 2016) has been transferred from Raipur to Surguja, Ambikapur, while Shashinand N.K. (IFS 2017) has been posted as DFO, Kanker, from Gariyaband. Abhishek Jogawat (IFS 2017) has been appointed Deputy General Manager with the Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Federation, Nava Raipur, on deputation.
Raunak Goyal (IFS 2020) has been posted as DFO in the office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force, Chhattisgarh, Nava Raipur, from Kanker. Srishti Chand (IFS 2020) has been posted with the Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation on deputation. Chandrashekhar Shankar Singh Pardeshi (IFS 2020) has been transferred from Surguja’s Working Plan Forest Division to DFO, Korea.
Among the 2022-batch officers, Dipesh Kapil has been transferred from Durg to DFO, Bastar, Jagdalpur; Chandra Kumar Agrawal from Manendragarh to DFO, Durg; Rishabh Jain from East Bhanupratappur to the Chhattisgarh State Forest Development Corporation on deputation; and Vipul Agrawal from Sarangarh-Bilaigarh to DFO, Surajpur.
