TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 11, 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today inaugurated an eco-friendly e-auto public transport service in Nava Raipur, calling it not just a transportation initiative but a bold step towards women’s empowerment and self-reliance. Operated entirely by women from self-help groups, the service marks a significant milestone under the state’s Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
The initiative, launched jointly by the Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran and the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission “Bihan,” will see 40 women from 15 village-level organizations across three clusters operating e-autos across key destinations in Nava Raipur. These include residential zones, government offices, the railway station, airport, and jungle safari areas within a 130 km radius.
“This is not just a transport service; it’s a journey towards economic independence for our women,” said Chief Minister Sai while flagging off the fleet. “This initiative will boost entrepreneurship among women and promote green mobility in the capital region.”
Each of the 40 women participants will earn a sustainable monthly income through this service, gaining financial stability while contributing to a cleaner urban commute. Officials noted that the e-auto fleet would soon emerge as a model of affordable, accessible, and pollution-free public transport in the region.
